She earned a B.A. degree with majors in piano performance, vocal music education and English. She taught college piano at Manchester College in Indiana (adjunct professor) for 3 years and piano, organ and harpsichord at the University of Minnesota, Morris (full-time) for 33 years of which 14 years were as Head of Piano Studies.

She has taught private piano and organ lessons to students ages 4-78 for 50 years.  As part of her University position, she accompanied many recitals of college faculty and visiting performers and presented solo recitals as well.

She served as the Organist and Music Coordinator at First Lutheran Church in Morris, Minnesota 1978-1982 and substituted at many churches in the area from 1983-2009 when she relocated to Florida.
